Ensure Endpoint was built by the team behind PointSec, the endpoint security company later acquired by Check Point. We started PosturePass after an enterprise asked how to verify contractor devices without putting MDM on personal machines.
From a Citrix migration problem to a platform for contractor device access
In 2021, enterprises migrating from Citrix to M365 faced a gap no one had solved: employees moved to Intune-managed devices, but contractors and external partners still accessed corporate applications from personal laptops. Without Citrix as a containment layer, those devices would connect directly to M365 with no verification.
These enterprises needed three things:
- A clear minimum security standard for contractor devices
- A way to enforce it through Entra Conditional Access
- Exportable proof for audits and compliance reviews
The usual tools did not fit:
- MDM requires enrollment that contractors on personal devices refuse
- Keeping Citrix just for contractors defeats the purpose of the migration and doubles cost
- VPN and identity controls confirm the user, not the device
So we built a different model: verify the device without managing it. In total: 1.4M+ devices checked.

PosturePass checks encryption, antivirus, firewall, operating system updates, screen lock, and risky remote access tools. Entra Conditional Access uses the result. Failed devices get fix steps. Each result records the user, device, controls, outcome, remediation, and time.
Today, enterprises use PosturePass to reduce contractor access friction while strengthening third-party device controls and compliance readiness.
